Jewel
Over the weekend I went to the Jewel concert in Toledo, OH. We left at about 8:30 on Saturday morning. I was up ealry though packing. You would have thought that I was going on a month vacation. I definitely over pack. I think it is that I always want to be prepared. We stopped at a Wendy's to eat lunch and made it into Toledo at about 1. Of course, the preparer that I am, I made an intenary. Yes, go ahead call me a geek. I think I have been working at the symphony too long and pick up some of their habits. Also, I think there were too many Upward Bound trips. Anyway, my itenary was 1 1/2 hour off getting there. At the end of the post I am going to post the itenary that I made, then after that what really happened. The Toledo ZOo sucked. My theory of it was that they had a bug in a jar and called it an exhibit. However, like people said, 'You have to expect that when the Cincinnati Zoo is one of the world's best.' We left the zoo and went to find our hotel. It was a nice hotel. The pool was on the first floor, not the second like I origionally thought. We went to find a mall. Got lost in downtown Toledo for a little while. Eventually we found the mall. It was a nice mall. I bought a shirt at Pacific Sunwear so I could wear it the concert. We ate at the mall and headed back to the hotel so we could get ready for the concert. I was the only one that changed. I had to look good for Jewel when I met her. We headed back toward the Zoo where the concert was. There were tons of people there. The Concert was in their amphitheatre. It is usually where they have the bird show. It was a nice place. Very small. We had good seats. 14th row back. We could see her perfectly. Me, Rachel, and Steve went to buy some souvieners while Lisa (my sister) sat and watched our seats. The opening act played. Not that bad. Then shortly after Jewel came on. GOOD CONCERT!!! She was cracking me up! Very funny, she is! I think everyone liked the concert. She did the COLD SONG. Thats always good one. Her first song was 'I won't Walk Away'. The last words of that song is 'I won't Walk Away' and I found it funny that after she sang it, she walked away. WHen she talked about her boyfriend a lot of people started booing her. She very funnily told them to stop booing her boyfriend. She did the rock set, then accoustically, then a rock set again, then she did the encore where she yodel. Who doesn't love a good yodel? The place was packed though. I am very glad that I paid all that money to go and everything. After the concert we went back to the hotel got directions to a resturaunt. We ate at the most ghetto Frisch's. The Frisch's was a whole nother post by itself. Never again will I eat there. They had Pizza Sticks for christs sake. Very Ghetto. Wen't back to the hotel,and fell asleep. The next morning we checked out of the hotel and ate at McDonalds and got home 2 1/2 hours early. Whatever. It was not my fault that they drove faster than what the itenary thoughot that they were going to drive. Later that night I went with Lisa and Rachel to the store where they bought stuff to make pink cows. We also rented Stuart Little. Pretty Good. Monday I didn't do a whole lot. That night I went to the movies with the 'gang' and saw Sum of All Fears. Pretty Good. Later I came home and watched Road Rules. Tuesday went to work, came home watched the MOLE, Steve came over and watched the Real World Finale and then that thing where Brandy had her Baby. Did you know that the Tuesday's episode of the Real World was the highest rated EVER. Pretty cool, huh. Wednesday went to work, walked home, while on the walk home went to the tanning bed, (I look kind of red today) and then came home. I wasn't feeling good yesterday. I watched the season premiere of BIG BROTHER 3 (It also got some good raitings. THen I went to bed early. I woke up this morning, walked to work, bought some doughnuts and chocolate milk at cookie jar and took them to the symphony. Worked all day. Walked Home. And now typing waiting for Big Brother to come on again. Tomorrow night I am going to go to a banquet for UB after I go to work. (It is kind of hectic there. J.R. got in a wreck the other day, which means he has no car. Which means that he is more testy since it is concert week. I hate the weeks of concerts. He is usually an ass. Saturday I am going to the Symphony Concert. Everyone should come! 7:30 Devou Park. It is free. The show is 'Thank God I am a Country Boy' I am going to be in charge of the volunteers. Maybe not in charge just tell them what to do. It really doesn't matter but finally, I AM THE BOSS! Move over Springsteen, Nick is on the way. That was real stupid. I am sorry that I even wrote that. I leave in 42 days. Getting excited. YAY! Today is 7/11. Did you know that if you go to 7/11 today they will give you free slushies or something like that for their 75th anniversary. Sadly, there are none around here. The other day I was watching Maury Povich and I was watching it again this morning and I always think this when I watch the show that they have, '1 baby-2 teens- Who's the father' Don't you hate when the show a split screen of the baby and the 'possible dad' and one of the 'dad's' says something stupid like, 'That ain't my kid. It don't look nothing like me." Some people are SO stupid. It makes me laugh every time I see something like that. Here's them itenary's.
