I'm still sleep deprived thanks to a late night at the office due to technical glitches over a file that needed to be transmitted. I imagine that somewhere in Atlanta or Charlotte, some computer operator saw a message flash up on his or her screen at some point during the 24 hours that preceded 6:30 p.m. CST last night. Said operator chose to ignore said message. Subsequently, communications broke down in an overly and needlessly complex network. I noticed a problem at 6:30. I called the person in Atlanta that was supposed to be sending me the file. She called someone in "support." This unknown support person finally tracked down the problem sitting on a computer screen somewhere. Or at least that's how I imagined it.
I arrived home after 9:00 p.m. Dinner was provided courtesy of
Plumgood -- stir fried beef over brown rice. Tasty, but later, indigestion. Tired, but can't sleep...and on it goes.
A tip of the cap to the guy in the black Nissan Sentra with the little donut spare on the left front wheel of his car this morning. You know, those tires with the ominous warnings, "DO NOT EXCEED 50 MPH WHEN USING THIS TIRE!" This guy was going at least 80, because he blew by me, and I was going 75.
I need to learn more about organic, sustainable farming.

The Farm as a resource to learn more about agrarian-based, communitarian lifestyles, and it seems like a good starting point. I am serious about this, but I don't really know where to start.
Siri was in a dancing mood this morning. I was in a zombie-like state with the morning news on. Anytime she heard music from the television, she would start rocking back and forth, which is her way of dancing.
William Luse has a very touching, profound article at The New Pantagruel called "Dying by Degrees." I highly recommend it, although it is long...and sad.
Also, I highly recommend
Remembering Gandhi, the transcript of a very moving speech made on January 30 by an American expatriate living in India.
