(no subject)

ATTENTION EVERYONE

Ahem. Did I get your attention?

Good!

Now, as some of you have already found out, the people who run LJ have made the executive decision to remove all subject bars from their site. Sadly, only a small percentage of users make use of them, and it's apparently nothing but an extra expense for them.

Unfortunately, this makes RP very difficult within LJ, as well as WDA, as we always make use of the subject bar. This just means we have to get a little creative here.

From now on, when you post or reply, before you type the actual RP material, please specify what you would normally put in the subject bar.

Post example: < b >[007, VIDEO, OTA]
Tag example: < b >[Action]

Do not, for the love of Simba, forget to emphasize this! Use underlines, italics, bold, font size=+1, or any combination of the four. It will make it so much easier for your RP partners to realize what means of communication or action is going on.

Note that this doesn't have to be in every tag in a thread, as that's quite a feat to remember each time. However, please make sure the first tag has that information in it. Additionally, if there's a change in the means of communication/action, please put that in emphasis at the top of your tag.

Example:
Post: [01, Video,0ta]
Hi I'm Jane Doe.
Tag 1: [Video]
Hi Jane. I'm Bob. Care to meet me for a soda?
Tag 2: Sure, I'd love to!
Tag 3: [Video -> Action]
Great, I'll be there to pick you up in a bit. [Guess who's knocking at her door?]
Tag 4: [Action]
[She opens her door and smiles.] HI THERE BOB.

Okay, I think you get the point.

This goes into affect immediately. All new posts from here on out must incorporate this.

Thanks Academy! I really wish we didn't have to do this Mufasa knows I'm too blonde to handle keeping up with subject bars, much less moving it into the comment but we must be like water, taking the shape of whatever we're put into.

Happy tagging!

EDIT: As Jenn posted below, there is a way to keep "subject bars" for the time being by switching your journal style. What would go in the bar shows up as bold at the top of the comment. This means that for those who don't want to switch their journal style (which is completely understandable), using bold at the top of your comment to write out the communcation/action means will look exactly the same!
