Growing up in a household which completely shut down on Sunday nights while 60 Minutes was on, I can't even begin to say how sad I am that Ed Bradley is gone.
He was definitely a pioneer and a cool guy. DH often teased me for having a little crush on Ed (what can I say, I have a thing for older men...lol). I talked to my grandfather last night and he was so sad. I told him about my having a crush, and he was like "me too!"...lol...guess he had a "man crush" on Ed. I always thought he was so cool for being himself (the earring, etc.), while remaining a consumate professional.
I caught some of the Larry King tribute last night and some of his collegues seemed to be fighting back tears on the air. I was working at the restaurant and I had to leave when Ed Bradley's good friend Aaron Neville sang "Stand By Me" at the end. It was just too much for me.
He will be sorely missed.
