Last night at the jewelry store, DH asked them to clean my ring. They wouldn't do it because they said one of my tanzanites is "loose". Not loose enough to fall out, but too loose to put through the machine. Just before the wedding, we had it cleaned and the jeweler noticed that the diamond was lose and wanted to tighten it. Well, somehow they dropped my tanzanites and they broke because they are such a soft stone. They replaced them...with what I think were somewhat lesser quality tanzanites, but they did not set them right. I did not want to deal with them anymore, so I just took my ring and left. We intended on sending it back to the place where DH had it made. It's a place in Oregon and I wasn't sure I could part with it for that long...lol... So it's been on my finger every since.
But now I think it's time to get it restored to it's original shape. I love my ring and don't want anything to happen to it and I think it should look it's best.
So, DH is calling the guy today to get a quote on how much it will cost to fix it. I asked him to price some new tanzanites in case he determines these are not good quality. Tanzanite is not too expensive what I understand.
