What a week this is turning out to be...with social commentary as an added bonus.

Well this is turning out to be one of those weeks for sure. As I mentioned earlier I've been working in SC all week. Well yesterday I got to leave early and beat some of the traffic, which was nice because I had been getting sicker and sicker all day. So I ended up having sinuses impacted with mucus and a bad chest cold. Needless to say I took today off, but there's no rest for the weary I'm gonna go back tomorrow and see what I end up feeling like. Hopefully I can beat the traffic again tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath for it...

Now on to the social commentary....

It seems that the topic of interest this week has been illegal imigrants. As most people know I'm not too worried with being politically correct, so I'm gonna stop calling them illegal imigrants in here and call them what they are.... Illegal aliens. First off I want to say that I do not have a problem with imigrants coming to this country to have a chance to live the American dream. Where I start to have a problem with this is that they will circumvent any and all protocals that are designed to preserve the state of things here.

Lets face it almost all of us are from imigrant stock of some kind. We all came from somewhere else, but there is one difference in what our ancestors did and what is going on today. Our ancestors all came here and followed the proper procedure to become naturalized and assimilated into the culture of the country.( I will throw in as a side bar that sometimes it was forced as in the slaves, and I'm not considering the Indians, or Native Americans for the pc crowd.) When our ancestors came here they were more than willing to learn to speak English. If this were not true, then why weren't there radio stations and newspapers all over that were printed and broadcasted in different languages. True they didn't get off the boat speaking great English and there were communities where say the Irish were prodominant, but they learned to blend in with America. These illegal aliens have no desire to do that. They want everything put out there for them in Spanish, and they have their own newspapers, radio and tv stations, and even stores. This infrestructure that exists gives them no reason to learn to speak the language, and they wouldn't if they had the chance.

These people are only concerned with themselves and their families. I know that hispanic communities are based around family, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but when you break the law of the land just by being here then demand that the land cater to you that seems a little selfish to me. If a bunch of us were to move to Mexico illegally we would be rounded up and jailed in no time, and they wouldnt offer us the conveniances that we offer them here.

The biggest thing that gets me is the fact that people say there are jobs that Americans will not do. This to me seems a little bit too self absorbed. We have tons of people that do nothing but have children and sit on the couch all day because the government says we'll provide you with a house and food and money for the basics of life for the kids. There is no incentive to get a job when you know that you can make close to the same thing as working in fast food by living off the government. Some of these people just need to be forced to get some kind of a job and get the generational cycle of having wellfare babies for a living, and decide that they will put their pride aside and take some kind of a job even if it is for less than you think you're worth.

In an age of terrorism we need to secure the borders and then we can figure out what to do with these people that are here illegally. In my opinion we don't need to offer them any kind of citizenship. I beleive we need to tell them that they have about 30 days to leave and no questions will be asked, but if they stay we'll start deporting them and severely punishing them and those that hire them. Offering citizenship to them is almost like rewarding a bank robber. Sure you broke the law, but it's ok we'll make it ok so we don't have a problem any more. Bank robbery is now legal, and we have a bandaid fix. Not a good idea. It will only encourage others to engage in the same activities.

That's the great thing about America.... It's my right to say what ever I want that will offend you, and you have the right to be offended by it.
