Wall hanging lighting fix? WCIF, DIE

You know how with AL, when you shift shelves or wall hangings down below the default height, they get all dark? Is there a lighting hack or a mod or something that changes that? At the mo, I'm using the radiance lighting system that comes with the Scriptorium. I tried Spookymuffin's too and also just plain vanilla but nothing seems to help it.
Not everything can be by a window and I hate having this dark shadowy things when I just want to vary it up.
If you have any other solutions, that'd be great too.
