Getting Home

So no shit, there I was. Obama was coming to my hometown of Leesburg, and the traffic situation there is bad on Friday afternoons, much less when someone famous comes to town. I decided to jet out of work at 4:30pm so I could beat the rush and take my back roads home. My commute starts out on the Dulles Greenway. It's fast enough for long enough that I can weigh my options for where to get off based on how traffic is looking. I go through the main toll plaza and start accelerating, when this VA state trooper shoots forward and heads to the front. He nearly rams a Merc in the left hand lane, forcing the driver onto the shoulder, and then swings wildly over to the right hand lane to prevent someone there from getting ahead of him. Then he settles down in the center lane, pacing us all at 35 mph.

We proceed down until just after the first exit, when the statie does a wild swing manuever and stops perpendicular to all of the traffic. I think to myself "Yays! You used all of your special driving training! Go you! Get the fuck out of my way, kthxbai." And then it dawns on me, why is this jackhole making me regret paying $3 to get home? And then I realize where I'm situated and that Obama's motorcade is going to pass right in front of me and get onto the Greenway.

Sure enough 3-4 minutes later about 15 SUVs, 10 cops (on various 2 and 4 wheel vehicles) and 2 large buses get into the Greenway. Once they're on, Sergeant Swerve in front of us gets out of the way and takes off. I decide that as long as I don't do anything stupid, I can speed as much as I want. So I do my usual 75 and end up catching up with the ass end of the motorcade.
I manage to snap a couple pictures using my iPhone, but they aren't terribly exciting. No one needs to see some bus ass and my dusty dashboard.

The motorcade moves below the speed limit, but fast enough that I can get home with only a 10 minute delay.
