Downs and Ups
First the down:
A family friend passed away yesterday.
I first met Bert when I was just beginning my teens. She was the girlfriend of the sister of my mother's ex-girlfriends current girlfriend (wow, that seems complicated). Anyhow, she was always wonderful to me and to all the kids in the extended family. Even after all of the relationships split (sometimes messily) she never forgot us.
It was over a decade ago that she was diagnosed with cancer. She had lots of surgeries and just kept bouncing back. There was a time that we even thought she had beaten it. But it was not to be. And yesterday she lost the battle. Or perhaps won it, since she's not suffering any more.
And now the up:
With all the bad news going on lately, life's been such a downer. And it's time to change that. I do believe it is time for another POSITIVE POST MONTH™. So watch for the goodness in July!
