Bloody Shirts... Werder is awesome times TEN, nah, make it a MILLION!

Blood allover his shirt and face... OMG

And this is how it happened:

Notice Gastaldello's elbow!

70. minute - Wagner's extra shirt was nowhere to be found. Well - and time was running out so who's left on the bench? Why not sending Rosenberg on the field, then? Rosi quickly switches his greenish home shirt for his (thank god!) easily to be found white away shirt. He probably brought it along - just in case. And yes, they still have those new reverse xmas tree shirts with his name on. Thank god he brought it along and not left it in the locker or at home... Notice his awesome tatt on his ribs when he changed?

Wagner was sporting a massive "Merte-last-season-turban" reloaded from that awful, awful match against Mainz, remember...

Meanwhile, (90+3) that Rosenberg took his little heart in his hands and had a try at a hammer distance shot!

Killllllllllller!
3:1 - All of a sudden, we were back in business! Strangely, despite the shitty malice the SAT 1 commie was spilling and the overall tense situation on the pitch, I KNEW Werder was not beat yet and some miracle was bound to happen. As always. Be it a paperball or Wagner's bloody shirt. Anything goes with Werder!!!

Do I need to say, I am SOOOO glad for this particular Werder quality? I know, I'm a masochist, of sorts --- but Werder keeps rewarding me everytime... how could I resist ;)

I absolutlely love how the factor chance can decide a game for us favorably. Higher powers (or whatever) take the decision for TS (fielding Rosi) and everything turns out just fine in the end against that bunch of mediocre Italian "players", as in actors. I never doubted our luck for a sec, actually. Only when it's of little to no importance (= Hoffenheim) that mighty force quits us every once in a while. Which is fine - it needs some time to recuperate before striking again.

Funny though, before Rosi got on, I was saying sth to the extent of --well, who's left there? How about now Rosi gets fielded and prooves just about everybody (I think there are only very, very few people left on this earth who believed he would play a/any part in Werder ever again - he was bound to be sold to somewhere (I forgot where) and hardly anyone was shedding a tear for him) wrong now?

Wesley said he was going to watch tonites game, home alone on telly -- well, I think he got quite an introduction there - hope someone was with him... In any case, he can't loose his hair over it since there is very little left in the first place. He was probably like most unexperienced WB viewers not giving a dime for WB success after that shitty Cassano scored. His hopes might have deserted him even earlier judging from WB terrible play in the first half. Like Austronaut and Wagner, the newbies need to get used to Werder's style asap - I think their nerves need to get acquainted with that certain intensity. Need more training. Judging from Austronauts look on his face -- he quite likes this kamikaze style!! It' better than ANY drugs currently available. And this is a true junkies statement right here. He is up for it too, for sures. Especially that Wagner seems not the type to get in that kind of style... I has worries.

IN general, that Wagner did not look to good - and Pizz as a tenner of sorts, nah, he was a bit malplaced and misused there and of no particular effect. He wa sput there to help out Frings and Bargfrede, I believe, for his attempts at defense were plenty and mostly fruitful. But they left him little time to attack.

Also, our midfield was ineffective and simply not creative enough. Frankly, it put tears in my eyes to see a hapless Borowski. And poor Marin was missing his/a congenial tiky-taky- partner in crime, Mesut, or let it be Hunt. More so him and Wagner does not go well together, only with Austronaut and Rosi things looked smoother. Before he was mostly on his own - in general, Pasanen's left side was a complete desaster - deserted for he never got over in the othe half, chicken he is, leaving Marin all by himself, I had hot flashes when he defened and my memory kept playing images of Mesut on the left together with Marin and Pizzaro of glorious times past... I hope we can fix that for there was a great lack of inspiration missing in Werder's game... Well, Almeida, Hunt and Naldo were missing, for sure. Hope they get well real soon. For that would have made things easier. No Wagner, no funny Pizz or Boro...

Boro - uhm, well, Arnautovic should have been fielded earlier, I am sure we can all agree on that-- he acts like SUCH a mean, unruly bitch (in a totally good way - and undoubtfully necessary for our team). He went for the balls and was niv=cely testosteron driven, unlike Boro. He even tried to tiki-taki with Frings (mistaking him for Mesut?) --- naturally Frings was a bit shy and not into it -- prefering some lame-ass horizontal pass instead (slowing us down) while Austronaut was all gesturing and running ahead clearly majorly annoyed about Frings' not having that. He tried to motivate Frings a couple times :)

Speaking of motivating him -- one reason our defense line got so much under attack was Frings and, to a lesser extent, Bargfrede had troubles organizing a proper game buildup against a rather average Italian team. It got obvious whenever Frings stayed behind rather than moving up during an attack to put pressure on Sampdoria - knowing he would be too slow to get back in case they strike a counter attack. Signing Wesley hopefully solve s htis problem and takes away some pressure from our disheveled defense.

I DO hope (nah, I am sure) we use some of the CL/Özil moneys to get a decent LBD -- I know they are a rare species and shy and all -- but it's about time to invest in the future, for the love of god, neither Boenisch (who needs more time) nor Petri (too slow and shy) won't be good enough now that we play CL. And a decent BuLi season might also be out of reach with those players. I mean, conceding 5/4/3 goals each game is NOT very desirable, right?

And Schaaf should stop messing around with the line up -- Wagner and Pizz as well as Boro were clearly poor decisions, though I do understand and appreciate (a lot) that he puts trust in them and all - yet, it got blatantly obvious that this won't work out, so he should have reacted a little earlier in the game...

Oh -- and for the next DFB round --- I am sooooooo ready to order tickets for it now - on Monday that is. Anything can go. So we might as well bloody win against that BM.
