Hello Friends!
Please excuse the silence. I have been oh so very busy with work. On Wednesday I flew to Newark, NJ and then took the train to Edison to do some training for our company there. I was OH so nervous. Normally I have no problem talking (especially in front of people), however, they were not very clear on exactly WHAT they wanted me to do. So I threw something together. Low and behold, people actually learned something. I was also able to open the management eyes to systems and processes that work and work very easily. My feedback was amazing and I could not be more thrilled. I REALLY hope this helps with the “Let Waylon Work from Minneapolis” campaign. A couple of directors and the CEO have already said that they will do what they can to make it happen and are talking about even trying to do a job share between the states with me. That would be amazing if I got to do both states. Talk about job security. Also, I think NJ would give me a little more power than I have in IN.
So we will see. They have already said they want me to come back in the future to do a refresher course or to at least “test” them to see if the processes are working. I was shocked to hear that what I do in 4 hours they do in a week. YES…A WEEK. Needless to say, they were not thrilled. It also helped that the office in WI said the same thing as I did, so it wasn’t just me boasting or anything.
I am sitting in the airport waiting for my first flight to Pittsburgh.
I could get used to this traveling for work thing.
