Hello Friends!
I have so much to tell you, but I have no idea where to begin. Let's begin with a brilliant comic from
Married to the Sea The Birthday Weekend:
The Birthday weekend was low key but a lot of fun. It was made special by the fact that Daniel was in town. It was wonderful to see him. I thought I would be in my new apartment (or at least have the bed there) Friday, but NOOOOOOO I had to wait until Monday. Since it would be way to awkward for him to spend the night in my current living situation (mainly due to the ex, but also because there is NO way he would fit in my bed…he’s TALL), I obtained a room at the Hyatt Regency downtown. It was great and cheap thanks to the Priceline name your own price thingy. The room was only $60 after tax. It was very very nice. We had a great dinner at my favorite greek restaurant The Greek Islands. MMMMM so good and they were damn busy. They gave me a piece of baklava for my birthday. I was in heaven. When we got back to the hotel we played a little Magic the Gathering (yes…geekalicious…but I am REALLY getting into it) and then went to “bed”.
Saturday we woke up and headed up to Kokomo so he could drop off some boxes and then visit with his family. We had his mother’s famous lemon basil chicken and roasted parmesan potatoes. MMMMMMM yumm. She’s not too shabby of a cook, but don’t you dare suggest moving away from the written recipe. She is not one to “play” with her food. That’s cool though! At least the results are constant and predictable. We ended up spending the night which was really odd, but comfortable. I guess they like me since the let me stay, but who knows. There are bigger things to worry about than that right now.
Sunday morning we woke up and had a great breakfast and then chilled for a couple hours and then sadly it was time to leave. This meant that it was soon time for Daniel to leave. It gets harder and harder to say goodbye, but I know that will change in the near future.
The Apartment:
YEAHHHHH!!!!! So yesterday I FINALLY was able to get the keys to my new Apartment. It’s as cute as I remembered. One of my co-workers and my best friend Jason checked it out and both agree it’s nice. I REALLY wanted to move stuff over last night, but damn Mother Nature and her menstrual rain. I am borrowing a neighbors truck tonight and with Jody’s slave labor I hope to at least move the big stuff over that I can’t do by myself. Jerri, one of my co-workers, graciously offered her Explorer and her services on Wednesday. Thank god I won’t have to do ALL of it myself!!
I have a lot of things packed, but it doesn’t really seem to be all that important. It’s kind of shocking to realize just HOW MUCH stuff I need to buy to live in the apartment. Normally this would be mucho exciting, but alas…I don’t want to spend too much money. I am going to have a new set of bills to pay, but mainly due to…
THE CRUISE!!!
WOHOOO It’s almost that time. Thursday will be my last day of work until April 12th. Friday morning I fly to Fort Lauderdale and then it’s off to Miami Saturday morning to board the ship. I am OH SO EXCITED. Gosh I can’t wait. I am not feeling 100% so it better pass or I am going to smack Daniel upside the head for getting me sick. GRRRRR.
Well that’s all for now!
