Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

I have this new policy, or rather one I was trying to employ: Not talking to anyone new oocly from Hollow. Well, I went soft on my stance not to do that, and I got burned, surprise, surprise. Not saying that I was personally hurt or anything (because I wasn't) but I once more have lost a little faith in the common decency of my generation. It's not like I was expecting the world of them or for them to be perfect, just to have the integrity to realize that something was wrong, but they decided to look the other way about it and let things progress as they were. Are my morals too high? For the people that play these games, it appears so. So that's the update and recommendation for today. Take a long, hard look in the mirror and see if you compromise your belief structure simply because the nature of an online community is so different from an actual community. If you do, you should probably rethink things, because no matter what happens, you have to live with yourself. And if you're willing to let the moral compass slide because 'it's an online community' or 'it's a game, not real life', then what's to stop that slippage from taking hold in what some of these people refer to as 'real life'? Not that I see it that way. I deal with real people, so it's real life. End of discussion. Needless to say, I'll be invoking the policy again. Those of you who know how to get hold of me, you're safe for now.
