A mix focusing on a particular element would be absolutely fine! Focusing on a singular character, for example, would fit into the theme as long as the media from which the character came from was released after July 1st, 2014.

Mockingjay? I'm having such a hard time with this theme hahaha. I should probably try a new show once in a while.

It's hard to say, I'd say yes if it was specifically inspired by the movie and not the book. However from what I've heard the movie follows the book fairly closely so I'm not sure how that could be done?

Yeah, understandable. I checked in with Olivia too and she said the exact same thing lol. The only thing I can think of is if I based it off a specific quote, pretty much, which was my plan if I did it, but idk. Still kinda iffy I guess. I'm having trouble with Maze Runner for some reason, lol -- I liked the books better =P Maybe if I dig more I can find something else that's more recent hahaha.

++ are purely instrumental/no lyrics mixes allowed?
