Sounds like another fun-filled weekend's in store for us. Note, if you can, the ridiculous amounts of sarcasm I've poured into that statement.

I've been here nearly two months, and I haven't come much closer in figuring out what kind of creature this "Queen" is. Granted, the books in the library were probably hand-picked by her or one of her ( Read more... )

message for dean, paranoid much?, sarcasm is my friend too, research is my friend

Some have been here for more than two years, and are still no closer to finding out what she is.

I get that. I'm just not used to not having the answers right away.

Every time something drastic happens, we learn a little more. Waiting does not sit well with me, but it's necessary.

Waiting has its drawbacks. For all we know, the stagnancy could be part of her plans.

I expect it is, but we have little other avenue open to ourselves at present.

There is something we are going to try, but we need to give people a chance to forget the significance of what we have learned, first.

True enough.

Why is it important for them to forget?

This is a place that takes our memories as it pleases, and which may have someone at its helm, deciding which memories are taken. If we act while that information is still fresh and significant in our minds, it may be liable to disappear.

And so soon after we have learned it, I expect they would be waiting on a move from us regarding what we have learned, if we believe anything can be done.

That makes sense. But can you act on something that you've forgotten? Or have you recorded it safely somewhere and just need it to fade away into the back of your mind?

I record everything of significance by hand, though that's no guarantee that it won't disappear. Allowing it to fall to the back of our minds and be overtaken in priority by the usual routine of this place is the best we can settle for.

Seems like you've got a handle on it. If there's someone you trust here, I'd recommend designating them to take over in the event that you find your way back home. It doesn't seem like we've got much of a warning when that happens, and my dad had this journal filled with his research that he sort of passed down to my brother and I.

Mn. That is something I intend to take care of.

What is it that you and your brother do?

You can never be too prepared.

Basically? We hunt down supernatural creatures who threaten humanity. Hence why I would've thought I'd have something like this more or less figured out by now.

I see. No wonder this is a source of frustration. Unfortunately, the Queen here is unlike anything with which I'm familiar.

The world has its uses, but the price is too high.

The Queen has things in common with other creatures I've met, but nothing quite fits the profile. So yeah, frustration is definitely there.

I know more about prices than most people, I think.
