triumph through tragedy

The two traveled for quite some time, exploring the world anew.

The girl hadn't been used to this at all. She usually wished to be carried, either by the man walking along side her or someone else. However, she couldn't bring herself to ask this time. She was given a second opportunity, and she used it to stay close to the man, clinging to one of his arms as they walked. The world was theirs to explore. She would have loved to rule it, for now.

"Lady Alice? Are you sure you're not tired? It may be a long time until we're able to rest." The man spoke, eyes falling onto the girl's head. She looked up at him with a forced look of disdain. It wasn't the face she wanted to make, but the one she was most accustomed to.

"Just shut up and keep walking." She said, mumbling slightly. To her, this was a foreign feeling, but it wasn't an unwelcome one.

He smiled, moving his arm slightly and glancing down at her. "I love you, my sweet."

Her face turned pink and she turned. "Stop saying stupid things, Decus... just keep walking."
