president's break
Break has been OK. Went skiing last weekend in Tahoe at Northstar for the first time, and I ran into Lauren, Aeshna, and Jenn Ong; apparently, Aalok was there the day before also. Anyways, skiing was kinda scary because my ankle was/is still injured, so I kept thinking I was going to trip and die in the mountains, which ended up not happening, if you were curious. Well, at least not the die part, since I did trip once. Some idiot skiier slammed right into me from behind and ... it was painful :(
I saw Elizabethtown last night! It's a neat movie, but I think I can also safely conclude that Orlando Bloom is really not a good actor. I mean, he's good in action-y movies, but in action-y movies, your dialogue is allowed to be choppy. Sounds more heroic that way... doesn't work too much with the modern drama. He should try doing period romance instead if he wants to continue the genre? I think that would probably suit him better.
Agh !!! Time goes by too fast! It's already the second weekend of break and there is so much homework I haven't done yet. I also feel sad that I barely saw anyone this week :( Not to mention it's already March, practically?! Augh!!! College stuff comes back in a month, how frightening. I got an email from the guy who is going to interview me for Penn... wow, that scared me. When everyone was telling me about how they were scared for their interviews etc etc, I was all yeah whatever, it's cool. But now that I have one, I am scared out of my mind. It doesn't help that I only have one interview to do out of all my applied schools. ONE. Une (I just realized that "one" and "une" are only one letter apart, haha).
Went shopping yesterday, and bought really expensive sunglasses. I brought 300$ with me in cash, so that I would have enough to pay for the glasses, but I ended up having approx. $120 cash in change and... REALLY not a good idea. Have you ever carried that much money around in a mall? It makes you want to SPEND. SO FREELY. UGH. I made a bunch of impulsive buys, fuck ! And I reallly needed to be saving that money, BAD BAD BAD. I need to learn more self control, in general.
Haha, omg. I was listening to a partial clip of Aladdin's "Arabian Nights," which included some of the dialogue before the musical medley, and I thought heard the merchant say something funny, so I had to stop and rewind to find out what it was. Googled a portion of the quote and found out the merchant is advertising a "Combination hookah and coffee maker. Also makes julian fries. Will not break, will not break... It broke."
