"Mickey Mouse -- your cell phone is requesting your attention."

Mickey glanced over his shoulder at Gloria from where he was watching TV, and frowned slightly. "What's the number?" She rambled it and his eyebrows went up slightly. "Huh. Talk about dropping off the face of the earth."

"Who is it?" she frowned as she tossed the phone at him and he caught it.

"Gimme a minute," he replied before flipping it open and placing the phone to his ear. "Well, well, well -- there's a number I haven't seen in a while."

"It's been a real long. . . what ever." He'd spent so much time in and out of consciousness since Meg's false hunt that he'd totally lost track of the number of days since he's last seen or talked to Mickey. "How are things on the home front?"

"Pretty good," he said with a nod. "The kids keep coming and we keep finding places for them. You'd be amazed at how creative kids can be with a biochemical wasteland."

He paused for a minute as Gloria plopped down next to him on the couch, sliding her legs into his lap. "How've things been with you? You off with your family?"

"Dude, wait until Christmas. Give them a pallet of lights. It's hilarious." He smiled at the memory. "Yeah, I'm with my family. Things have been. . .not so great." It took my a minute to come up with some thing other that, 'My Dad's dead.' "Slowly getting better though." He wasn't quite sure of the ediguette of 'So I need a huge as favor.'
