Plans

I am not going to have time to make dinner tonight. It's as simple as that. So I'm planning something in the crock pot. We have freshly-picked squash, so I want to use that up tonight (it's only two pieces, but it's been picked so it's going to rot if we don't use it soon). I have chicken, a Vidalia onion, and some other things in the pantry. I'm getting groceries today, so we're a little more bare than I like.

I'm thinking put the chicken in the crock pit with a little bit of chicken broth, chop up the onion and squash and put them in, add some noodles (Ramen, perhaps?), and maybe a can of tomatoes... Hmm... I don't kno what it will taste like, but it will be hearty! It feels more like a soup at this point in my mind, and I don't like serving warm soups in the summer. Even very early summer.

Oh well, I'm off to add some things to the garden. I am going to add in certain plants as we go so that we can extend the season, and hopefully not buy anything from the grocer through the summer. Well, nothing we can grow ourselves.

While I'm planting and tilling, I am also going to be thinking about growing our own talapia. Tropical fish, in Georgia? Well, yes, if you put them in a greenhouse. We could put plants in there as well during the winter and early Spring, rather than putting them in a light box in the house... So many thing I want to do!
