It's been a fantastic weekend, and I am sorry to see it going. We spent some great time over at the Lazy B farm, seeing all the animals and learning about shearing sheep. I learned that this is something of a dying art in our world, and it's not exactly an easy job. I also learned that Jacob's sheep, our first thought for having on our land, might not be the best choice. That made the entire class worth it right there.
We then went out to a friends house to celebrate her Doctorhood. I am unable totoss out LJ user names on my iPhone for some reason, but Mermaid Blue we love you! We has a lot of good conversation and food, and I even had a cigar.
We left there and decided on the wY home to pick up Tilly, our little tiller, who had been borrowed by my friend Jon. He had a small patch to till up, so he ha finished it that day and was happy to keep her if she needed a place to sleep. We had more work to do, though, so we picked her up. We also got to spend some time talking, although not nearly as much as I would have liked.
Today was spent in the garden. A side trip to Home Depot yielded some great plants to add in, so I planted some sweet potatoes, another strawberry bush, some Bee Balm (a mint family that attracts hummingbirds), and some sun flowers. My Love got some Annuals which look beautiful. And she got some little purple flowered ground cover, perrenials that I do not know the name of.
I just finished puttig foundation into all my frames for my empty hi e body, and will be setting it out tomorrow morning in case a swarm comes by and needs a home. Hope sprinds eternal, and I don't want to wait until June!
That's all the news that is news, so say good night Gracie!
