[ ...well, Beika or not, Ran knows she still has people to take care of here. Wth what happened to Heiji and Adam, and Conan being around--she feels she really can't afford to slack, even if she still worries about how things are going back home, with her father, her best friend Sonoko...the other Detective Boys.

She's snuck out early this morning ( Read more... )

[Makoto been up and about. Mostly seeing how fertile other parts of the land is to grow vegetation, since she's been working on that.]
Good morning, Ran.

It looked more like a portapotty when I first saw it. I'm wondering if the scientist dropped them here..

A-ah, good morning.

[ Ran smiles, turning to greet her. And she turns her attention away from her communicator for a moment to talk to her. ]

Yeah, now that you mention it, it...kind of does. But I heard some people calling it a teleporter over some of the other channels on this thing.

[ And she briefly gestures to the communicator. ]

I figured I would find out more about it...if I could.

I heard just this and that about it, but I wasn't really sure. It's a pretty odd design for a teleporter. The smiley faces don't really reassure me much still about it.
[CLEARLY a trap of elude one's suspicion of the device.

Taps her chin briefly.]

Ah, I see. Though, I feel like no one here would unless you were the one that placed it here. I'm a little iffy on trusting anything they put here if it's not food and water.

jskldfkglf I really want to watch Sailor Moon again now SOB waytoopatient August 4 2011, 22:49:25 UTC
...yeah, the smileys are definitely creepy, if nothing else.

[ Whoever designed them had an odd idea of what's reassuring, if that was the case. ]

I don't really trust it either. I guess that's why I never really tried myself, though I really think we should help out the people in the other areas...

Stick together, you know?

[ And she laughs a little. ]

...and I think we'd all be even more suspicious if it were food or water that they put out here. Or I think I would.

I prefer to cook my own food, anyway.

[Smiles and gives a nod of her head.]

Couldn't agree more. If they can transport us else where then I guess they aren't too bad. Though I would think giving us a more 'practical' way of transportation.

Well, if they wanted to poison us I think they would have done so already or worse.
[I mean, why not drop another nuclear bomb on them?]

It's a good way to transport items back and forth at least that others need and vice versa.

M-MAYBE. I have some of the movies on VHS, ahahaha waytoopatient August 5 2011, 06:02:51 UTC
Hah, yeah. They look so out of place...there have got to be side-effects.

[ And she blinks, looking a little startled by her assertion, though...really, she's right. ]

The scientists do control pretty much everything we eat and do, so you have a point there. I mean, I wasn't around for the bomb at Discedo but...I hear they even warned the residents.

What's that all about?

All the more reason to feel like a guinea pig.
[Chances are they were testing this out on them. Free test subjects? Sounds like it.]

Maybe when this dry spell is over it'll help some of the seeds I've been planting. [More ingredients to cook with would be absolute love.]

I'm not even sure anymore. I keep feeling like I have them figured out, but they do something out of the ordinary.

FFFF well >>;; Ahaha my TV does, but it's actually borked right now. It's probably all online though waytoopatient August 6 2011, 01:38:21 UTC
[ She nods, completely understanding of course. She's felt like a guinea pig the entire time, really, especially since she still has that creepy dream about being strapped to some creepy lab table--those scientists all around her.

But ah--she mentions planting, which is a far more pleasant topic, so she decides to focus on that instead. She's been looking for ingredients for new things to cook, anyway.

One day they'd figure out the scientists but...ugh, today is not that day. ]

Hey, that's pretty cool. I didn't know you had anything growing. What do you have planted so far?

LJ quit not giving me notifs. Derp. D: Nuuu...tv. Well, yeah you can find anything online. XD lotsoftalent August 12 2011, 20:19:19 UTC
[Goodness knows what else the scientist will throw down here for them to use. Why can't they give them anything useful form their world? Utterly ridiculous and frustrating at times. You could only cook so much with the limited items here. >: Mako wants to bake her usual strawberry short cake she loves so much.

But...doesn't stop one from getting creative with cooking!]

I...really don't know. I kind of just found them, so there wasn't any labeling or packaging so I decided to take a shot in the dark and grow it.
[Herp, well better than not knowing what it was.]

Though I think I'll ask around if there's any spare seeds around to use.

XD LJ's silly with notifs sometimes, sigh. waytoopatient August 13 2011, 04:13:30 UTC
...huh.

[ Well, there's nothing wrong with that. She would've probably tried the same thing, especially given what limited supplies they have here. They have to take what they can get, and being able to grow your own food is definitely a plus. ]

Have they sprouted yet?

[ She is curious about them~ ]
