Guests can come into the Very Large Door through the hallway, which will lead them in from outside, or from the Milliways-door, or from the shipyard or the Dreaming.
"-- you really do have to know how to do everything, don't you?" Greg Sanders is saying to Sara Sidle as they walk in, still playfully bickering about something.
At some point, Alie has brought Valentine, Mark, and Angel to the hall. Angel has found a seat, and likely someone to talk to.
Off to one side, fiddling with his camera, is a boy, a man really, but don't tell him that. He's filming everyone arriving, mingling, and generally chatting.
At the front, near the podium, are the groom and his men, standing and looking Reasonably Official (except for the king, who looks fairly nervous on top of official).
Behind the podium stands Lady Meroin Aviro, serving as officiator, and next to her, Lady Minister Valentine Wiggin-Skywalker.
They probably don't look half as nervous.

Max needs those.
From Michael, from Trillian, from anyone else who can tell just how incredibly nervous he is.
He glances once at each of the others -- and gives Varec another wink of his own, avoids meeting the eye of Meroin, whose own wedding was uncomfortably cancelled -- and then looks back at the ground.
Followed by at Random Lyrae Dent, sitting up at the piano.
Ford has never been in a wedding party before. This is likely why he's fidgeting just a bit.
He gives Max a small smile when the king looks his way and does his best to join into the collective soothing 'om' that he can feel in his mind thanks to Trillian.

It's a wedding. There's no way in any sort of hell that Mark would show up without a present. So, somewhere near the back of the pile of presents is what looks like a picture, wrapped in brown paper, and tied with old film. On top of that, is a small film reel. On the inside is a painting, about two feet by three feet, of Max and Faith sitting at a table, deep in conversation.
On the top of the film reel is a card. On the inside is written:
Shelley had had absolutely no idea what to get or make. What do you get a King and Queen, after all? If they want something, they can have it.
So eventually she sat down to write the couple a letter, on dark red handmade paper, in iridescent gold ink. Because it might as well look pretty.
Dear Max and Faith,
I have known Faith in particular for quite a while now - and I met Max through you - and you have both always been kind and wonderful people. In Milliways, and on Antar. Perhaps the best, and most true thing I can say is that if two people really deserve one another, it is you two. Which, given your rather obvious regard for one another, can only be a good thing.
I thought very hard about what to give you, and came up a blank. Because, well, you live in a palace. But I wanted to give you something, and hopefully you enjoy them anyway.
Lots of love, and congratulations,
Shelley Winters

More than likely, he's caught you on film.

He may be sending waves of telepathic calm at Max, while he's there.

But there are still refreshments and things for those of you who wish to remain and mingle.

His General trusted him to this duty, and whatever his opinion may still be, he intends to live up to it.
