Congratulations! And happy birthday. I haven't had much port but I didn't really like it when I did. I've never had vintage port though, so.

I enjoy chocolate stout.

I enjoy IPA :-D and Sake. And champagne (with OJ or peach juice).

But as for tonight, I just had the BEST BEST BEST dinner at Outback (I know, weird, huh?) And I drank these, and they were the awesomest things EVER at only $3.75!!!!

Oh, I thought it might be some sort of snarky pictoral commentary or something. Anyway, I got the best 6 oz top sirloin I have ever had, four pieces of barbied jumbo shrimp (over a bed of these cut up roma tomatoes in some kind of dressing and basil), and a crazy good baked potato--all for TEN FREAKING dollars!!!!! It was the best meal of my life in more ways than one. Outback is my new favorite restaurant to go to--until they disappoint me (as they all do).

ETA: okay, maybe "best meal of my life" is a bit hyperbolic, but you get what I mean. I feel very passionately about this, lol.

You have my most sincere condolences.

And you have mine for being too snooty to experience the perfection of this meal.

And also that you are going to miss out on the twin lobsters pulled out of the Atlantic hours earlier that have my name on them this weekend. I am sure that will be a meal to feel passionate about as well.

It has nothing to do with being snooty! It's all about having developed a healthy repulsion to chain restaurants. Outback in particular.

You should try the "bloomin' onion" and then get back to me about its perfection.

Well, I have not eaten there much either because of said repulsion, and look at what it has made me miss out on!! Maybe there was just a great cook on meat there today, but I am telling you, it was the best steak I have ever had. And I have eaten steak at a lot of fine restaurants.

Also, Chili's rules. Sure, it isn't gourmet, but I feel a real comfort in knowing that I will probably always be able to rely on it to have the chips and top notch house made salsa, above average shrimp fajitas, and mango margaritas that I have come to love.

Oh, yum. That's seems a good enough reason to go to Outback for me. I don't think I've ever been there.

Thanks! I've never had chocolate stout before. I'll have to make sure to try it sometime. Is there any particular brand you'd suggest?

Rouge. I'm not sure if they sell that where you are. It's from Oregon. Otherwise Young's Double Chocolate. Those are the two best I've had.
