*Andrew's been a little out of touch, and he figures he'd better check in with Baby. It's quiet in the cells right now; any visitors have left, and no one from Security appears to be around.*

*There's a few notes he hasn't read yet.*

...WHAT?

*His voice is loud enough to carry down the hall, and it's followed a moment later by sharp footfalls that stop outside Veronica's cell.*

Are you Veronica?

Veronica starts at the shout, sending her cards scattering.

Crap. Well, it was only a matter of time before someone got back to her on the 'attempted murder' issue.

"Y-Yeah? That's me."

*He's holding the note in one hand, and looks angry.*

It says here you were under the influence of a curse?

...Oh.

"Yeah?"

Do you have any idea what kind of a curse and is it still going on?

"No, and I sure as hell hope not.

"Is this an interrogation? This doesn't feel like a proper interrogation."

*distracted* It's not. I think for a proper interrogation we'd want bright lights or something --

Where the frell do they get off putting you in a cell for something you did while you were mind-controlled?

"Just as long as we're clear..."

She sits up a little straighter, and crosses her legs. "I asked to be put in here, actually. I just... I wanted to be sure. I wanted to make sure she wasn't about to come back. I figured if she did it'd be best if I was away from the guns and pointy objects."

[stilljustandrew]

*That quickly, the anger's gone.*

Okay, yeah, I get that. Baby -- *He turns aside a little, and puts up a hand to brush the wall.* She's a voluntary. Like Harry. Be nice to her?

*Back to Veronica:* If you need anything while you're in here, ask Baby, okay? She'll take care of it.

His sudden turnabout makes her smile. "Thanks."

After a moment's pause, "Though - if I'm being completely honest I should probably tell you that I think Rachel still has some doubts about me. I don't blame her seeing as I apparently smashed Behrooz in the head and shot Indy with his own gun. But you might still want to talk to her before passing any judgments about my innocence."

[stilljustandrew]

...Indy? Is he okay?

"He was shot in the leg. I think he's well enough, he was sitting up and talking when I last saw him."

*Some of the worry goes out of his face, and the rest changes subtly.*

She opens her mouth to reply, then closes it, and smiles tiredly.

"Working on it. Thank you for asking, though. I don't even know your name."
