It's the top of the fourth inning and #14, Grace Hanadarko, is now pitching for End of the Universe Enigmas.

Time to see what she and the Paradoxes batters make of each other.

#75 - Sari Sumdac

Sari's smug swagger from the first inning is replaced with a look of grim determination as she steps up to the plate. This time, she's ready.

Grace saunters out to the mound, punching her fist in her glove and whistling Fogerty's Centerfield. Second is her preferred position, but she wouldn't have lasted long in her family without picking up a pitching tip or two. She feels comfortable; it shows in her grin and the way she bounces around out there, digging her feet into the dirt.

"Ready or not."

Without further warning, she breezes through her wind up and lets the ball fly. It's a decently quick pitch, but a little wild there at the end.

It's a pop fly to left field, and Sari is off like a shot for first base.

"I got it! I got it!" Enzo runs and makes a powerful leap for the ball.

It smacks into his glove half a second before he smacks full-length into the turf.

Ow.

"I got it!"

"Sorry, Sari!" he calls as he wings the ball back toward the pitcher.

This is what passes for trash talk.

One out, nobody on, and now the Paradoxes' relief pitcher, #02 Duo Maxwell, steps up to the plate for the first time.

Duo cracks his knuckles as he steps up to the plate. The real question is, does this lady have crazy-ass superhuman pitching speed, or does he have a chance here?

He taps the plate and then pulls into a ready position.

Except, after the pitch she threw Sari, Grace is now a slightly more determined off-duty cop having some fun.

Grace grins at Duo, cocks her head and pulls out a slider.

Duo plinks it off the tip of the bat, sending the ball rocketing waaaay over the foul line. Curses.

He readjusts his grip and waits. He's got at least two more chances. He can take it.

With results like these, it would be nuts to change up her pitch. So Grace throws a fastball that goes wild. Really wild.

Castiel will have to move fast to catch it.
