Sallie only needed to find Ennis and Jack in the stables once to suddenly develop a habit of knocking on the heavy wooden door before entering; all of her other employees started to look at her strangely, but she was just being safe.
It was an ordinary day at Alton Union - an ordinary day, that is, until the monsters attacked, and the weird kid from metal shop drove them off; that wasn't so ordinary.
"Well, y'see darlin', the thing 'bout boys is -- well, they're sorta like -- when y'start to -- sweetheart, the only thing you really oughta know, is you're just as good as any boy, an' any good boy will know that an' act accordingly," Kate finally stutters, the 'or else' hanging unuttered between them.
The two women glared at each from either side of the table, their eyes locked, both too stubborn to back down or change their minds; just as Helena was thinking that the other was about to crack, Edna jumped up on the table, hit her on the head with a rolled up newspaper and growled 'NO CAPES!'
