ECHO the Name of Jesus!!!

Yesterday was a special day for me! It is the first time i serve in church!  I want to describe the whole excitement process in detail.. so bear with me ok.. cause is my first time serving.. haha!!

Woo.. this is the first time our Team Echo officially serve!! Previously, the team was called Gamma but it has dissolved and a new team is formed - ECHO!! I love what the leader said in the opening brief:" Let us ECHO His love, ECHO His goodness, ECHO the name of Jesus!!" The opening brief was started off by ministering the Word of God by Decon Matthew and followed by Linda, our team leader. We had an awesome time of praise and worship and refreshment before we start serving!! Woo.. i love it.. the emphasis of this ministry is so much on the Word and on Jesus instead of focusing on serving.. serve out of the overflowing blessings from Him!!

This time round, we have the leaders of Alpha and together with some ushers from Alpha and Beta to serve with us. The main reason is because of the large number of new ushers serving for the 1st time and with the help of other ushers from Alpha and Beta, our leaders can pay more attention helping the new ushers familiarize themselves with the operations. I am so happy to be assigned to be at the front line operation under one of the experience usher from Beta, Barnabas. Anointed name!! I went to search the greek meaning for Barnabas and it means "son of rest". Woo .. i am serving with the son of rest!! In the book of Acts, Barnabas was a distinguished Christian teacher and also a companion and colleague of Paul. Haha .. i begin to visualise myself as Paul and see how Barnabas made the apostles treat Paul as one of them - Acts9:26-27 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

Indeed, Barnabas is a great teacher!! He taught me everything on the front line operation! On both service, we went out to pack the queue. He has taught me how to ensure smooth flow of queue and also to prevent the congestion in the queue. He also showed me the operation at the lift area leading the people to the overflow rooms. After packing the queue, we took over the front door position to greet the people coming in to church! Wow... is exciting! Barnabas give chomp stamp while i stand beside him greeting the people. I think i have said this over 100 times:" Welcome to Church, God bless u!" Hee.. feel so good greeting all the kings and queens coming to church! When Linda went around giving out the "smiling face" pinned on our coat, she told me i do not need cause i always have warmth smile on my face! Oh yea.. i received lots of compliments from people... charming, handsome etc.. and i know all these are the glory of Jesus!! Wayne is effective ONLY when he is nothing and Jesus is everything!!

After the greetings at the front door, i was stationed at the main door into the auditorium to ensure minimum movement during Holy Communion. When the service starts, we can have our break time and can also sit at the foyer area to listen to the Word. I have never realise that the foyer area can actually turn into a children's Church! Haha.. so many children running around! While Cheryl, Chase and i were sitting at one corner of the foyer, one cutie little girl came to play with us! Haha.. she was hyper active.. play a while run away.. then come back again. Haha.. super cute!!

After the service ends, i was stationed at the area near the toilet to guide the people to use the side exit so as to prevent congestion at the foyer area. Hmm.. thats about all the operation at the front line. We had a short debrief after everything. Linda's hubby, Clarence also share with us in the debrief. Woo.. i love it when he share the Word.. his voice is so clear and audible.. full of ENERGY and LIFE!! Guess what? They even celebrate birthday for me!! Haha.. not only me lah.. is for all the Jan and Feb babies in the team!

Let us pray for our leaders and also the RSM leadership, Decon Matthew, that God will through them, bring to us a Word of season for everyone and that the wisdom of God will guide them in every decision making and that God will prosper them in all area of their lives. The blessing of God flows from the head to the body! I love the revelation which Linda share: "I may not be the only one, but I am my Daddy's favourite child! Let us see each other as our Daddy sees us all, and treat each other as He treats us."
