Ok, then. The feel is good. I was going for broken, but hopeful kind of feel.

I'm working on the next installment, so hopefully it will be smoother than this one; there are parts of this that are so...rough it makes me cringe. But I was editing it to death, so I posted.

Wow. This is very good, I like it. It's an interesting idea, actually rehabilitating Crane with his past behavior even before the insanity. :D I like how he thinks he's talking to himself and she mentions it could just be his sense of humor. LOL, priceless. I think you captured the emotions very well, and it didn't feel dry at all to me, just what I would expect from Crane at this point.
