Only you seem to reconcile me with the post-finale canon House. I love this piece, and the presence of Blythe. House's relationship with his mother is something that deserves a lot of fics, I think. So tiny insights have we been given, there's plenty to explore from there. I feel his pain, here, I can recognise him. You are very neutral to him, and yet merciful. Very fine writing, as usual.

I'm glad you can 'recognise him'. I really don't think he's changed, in essence and I hope we get some evidence of that in the autumn. What a long way off that seems! Thank you, as always, for commenting.

Yes, House's subconscious assumes Wilson will be angry but still fulfil his usual function. Blythe lets us know he's mistaken. I'm glad you liked this; your comment is much appreciated.

I really liked this. At first I thought it would be the usual, and then the twist was great. You also captured Blythe's age perfectly, and her feelings about her son.

Thank you :). I'm hoping we are going to get some more from Blythe next season. If House is going to end up 'understood' (not the same as excused!) as HL said he hoped he would be, surely we need some input from her.
It's good of you to comment; thanks!

It's very hard for me to "get" Blythe, especially how she could have let that man torture her son. But forgetting that, your fic is great. And I'm not sure Wilson is pissed. he might be just too scared to call Blythe and shatter her hopes (hopes he roused to begin with).

On Wilson's feelings, you may very well be right. He might think it unfair to Blythe not to let her know, but for the purposes of this little piece I'm making him mad ( ... )

I'm not patient. I'm awed by you. Thanks for the great analysis of Blythe.
