Bloody Prequels
Can I just say I'm fed up of prequels. They smack of cowardice. Have the balls to write about characters in the fullness of their career, not some backwards looking pretend history. Take the bandied about Graysons, or the no tights no flight Smallville, or the Caprica (a BSG prequel) and shove them. I'd like to see a really dammn good Superman or Batman TV series. I mean if TV can sustain a plethora of CSI / LAw & Order type dramas surely we can have a kick arse Batman show?
I think that the trend has a lot to do with how the baby boomers strangle hold on power has left the x,y and z generation feeling powerless, and perpetually in the role of a child. Writers are expressing our feelings of being stuck in limbo, stuck in perpetual adolescence. Only occasionally allowed to take the family car for a spin,and only as long as we have it back by 10pm.
