Sakura's cheeks were going red again, as she carefully slid her fingers through Lee's and began to lead him outside.
In all honesty she wasn't quite sure of a destination, not that it would really matter to her companion anyway.

A smile spread across her lips and Sakura slowed her pace, turning to look at Lee as they walked.

In fact, the thought that their walk might have a destination hadn't yet crossed his mind, and it wouldn't have made a difference if it had. He was happily focused on the simple fact that they were spending time together, a reality that hadn't yet stopped being wonderful, and, knowing Lee, very likely never would.

He smiled back at her, giving her hand a light squeeze and settling into a steady pace at her side.

The gesture caused Sakura's stomach to practically tie itself into knots, a feeling she was more than familiar with, to say the least. She looked away from Lee once more, attempting to concentrate on the path before her.

As they continued along, a sudden gust of wind brushed across her skin, causing her to pull closer to the warm body beside her's instinctively.

Lee turned to look down at her, a worried expression on his face. "Sakura-san..." he said softly, unable to keep the concern out of his voice. He had only noticed the chill in the air when she had responded to it, and he mentally kicked himself for not having a coat to offer.

"Here," he said, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and drawing her closer. "If you don't mind, that is..."

The sudden warmth enveloping her caught Sakura off guard and she looked up at Lee, face flushed. "No, it- it's fine..," she responded quietly, tucking herself into his side.

The ground suddenly became very interesting, and she fell silent.

Lee could feel his face heating as she pressed herself against him, and he took a deep breath, attempting to kill the nervous tension in his chest.

"I just don't want you getting cold," he managed after a moment.

Sakura kept her concentration on the leaves crunching beneath her feet, certain her face was about as red as the top she was wearing.

"Mm.. Thank you Lee-san," she replied, nodding her head slightly.

"Of course."

He looked down at her -- when had he become someone who could make her blush? His cheeks grew nearly as red as hers at the thought, and he quickly turned his attention back to the path beneath them.

The growing silence was starting to nag at Sakura slightly, but had long given up on trying to break it. Not that she really minded this, simply walking together quietly..

She enjoyed it every time, silence and all- which never failed to occur.

It wasn't an uncomfortable silence; he was content just to be with Sakura, her nestled warm against his side. If he concentrated, through the chirping of the crickets and the crunch of the leaves underfoot, he could hear the soft sound of her breathing, and he could get lost simply listening to that.

Sakura's thoughts had trailed off when she noticed the path was leading them directly to the lake; she raised her head to look out across the water. At night it seemed to take on a completely different ambience, and the reflection of the sky caused the lake to practically glow.

Lee's eyes widened as he took in the sight before them. He had never expected to find any of the scenery here particularly lovely -- not compared to Konoha, anyway -- but this... Perhaps it was the moonlight, perhaps it was who he was with, but he was sure it was one of the most breathtaking things he had seen in his life.

"It's beautiful," he said quietly, and unconsciously tightened his arm around her.

She nodded silently, staring at the lake in awe. After hesitating a moment, not really wanting to move, she pulled away and turned to look at him.

Sakura smiled and grabbed onto his hand once more, pulling him towards the pier.

Lee felt his heart sink as she pulled away -- had he done something? He racked his brain for what he could have possibly done wrong, not sure just what it was but certain it was his fault somehow. But just as he was ready to apologize for whatever imagined offense he had committed, she took his hand again.

He stood in surprised silence for a moment, cheeks going red, before laughing with relief and quickening his pace to match hers as she tugged him along.

Sakura paused as she neared the end, before slowly sitting down and pulling her knees to her chest. She had released Lee's hand to do so, but hopefully he would realize there was an open invitation to sit down beside her.

Lee took a seat next to her on the pier, his legs dangling a few inches above the water. He looked out over the lake for a long moment before turning to her, his expression serious, as if what he was about to say was some profound truth instead of mere flattery.

"You're still the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

Sakura could feel her face turning red again, she never really knew how to react to words like that. By now one might imagine she was used to hearing them, atleast coming from Lee, and.. she was. What she wasn't used to was how those words made her feel.

Not being able to come up with a response, she settled for giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
