DAT report

Two is fun! It's better than one. It's way better than 0.01 (newborn). Yes, occasionally DAT gets really mad about something and screams inexplicably, but the majority of the time he can vocalize his frustration to the extent that I know what he wants. Plus, he understands most of what I say to comfort/work things out. (as opposed to him as a newborn when he would scream his head off for no apparent reason, and he understood nothing I said, and he couldn't communicate any other way) Two is super fun because DAT can understand more complex explanations that relate objects together in more abstract ways. He also has a sense of history and will try to retell past events. Two is fun because we actual can carry on proto-conversations in proto-complete sentences (Ball go up! Ball fly in sky!). Two is fascinating because DAT is now engaging in much more complex forms of play involving imitating everyday experiences (as opposed to just figuring out the basic laws of physics and body movement). He is really interested in pretending to drive cars and trains (trains are a major obsession currently) and things related to cooking (pouring, helping put ingredients in the pan, mixing, scooping, cutting soft objects with a butter knife, etc.).

0.01 was super, super stressful. 2 is occasionally stressful, but mostly fun.
