When I came out to Denver, on what was for me, the coldest goddamn day of the year, meeting you brought back all the warmth I needed. I don't want to negate your feelings in any way because they're what you're going through right now. I do want to tell you a couple things.
1. and this one is important, more so because I forgot it for the past three weeks while going through my own personal circle of hell - my amateur take on the Buddhist idea of impermanence is as follows: When things are going great - enjoy it because it won't last. But when things are going shitty - hang in there, because it won't last. I don't think the Buddha ever said "shitty", but I have been wrong about so many other things.
2. Arrogant people are assholes because they *need* to feel superior. You, on the other hand, *are* superior. I've met you and talked to you so I know what I'm talking about. And superior people admit when they're wrong, generally know when they're right and leave room to learn. You are totally lovely and bright, have great taste in music (important), and are totally the kind of talented young woman I wish I could hang around with and be buddies with.
Jen Chad, my honorary daughter, is a superior person. And breathing is always a good idea.
