check your lease for the terms of abandonment as you can't just kick someone off of your lease unless he broke some agreements. did he stop paying rent for a few months? is the replacement an official sublet? (if not this is most likely against your lease) has any of this been run by the landlord? and so and so and so on.

if he's a giant pussy then just tell him he's not welcome but if he's at all spiteful you may want to have a legal advantage over emotional posturings.
