Fair warining, If you're wanting squee, this is probably not a place you want to be.
And yes, I know I'm going to run the risk of looking like that cranky oldster, shaking their fist at the kid on their lawn, but really Kripke? Get the fuck off outta my garden.
Really, what was the point of killing both Jo and Ellen off? Did it serve a greater purpose? Further the plot along a critical path? Cause from where I was sitting on my comfy chaise it sure looked pointless as hell. Cause I'm sure not seeing any trips back from Death ala Sam & Dean for these ladies later down the road.
Pointless.
At least when Joss killed off someone, there was a reason behind it. I may not have LIKED the reason, but it furthered the story & served a purpose. You really think Buffy could have dove off that tower if Joyce hadn't died earlier in the season? Not a chance.
Bah. Maybe I'm extra cranky cause I'm the mom of two kick ass girls & my mom has been gone way too many years & her birthday is coming up this week. So yeah, it's probably hit more of my personal buttons than most. But again I say...POINTLESS.
And in the spirit of trying to find something nice to say...visually, I loved the Castiel scenes with the reavers & in particular the transition from the street to the building. GORGEOUS. I hope to see that in many many many SPN vids to come.
But yeah, the rest of the episode did not do much to further my love.
No show is perfect. It's still disappointing when something you enjoy really falls short.
