Eating cactuses

I almost regret finding my name tag after I lost it briefly last week. My major pet peeve as a cashier? Customers calling me by name. I know that they have good intentions, but it throws me to hear a perfect stranger call me by name and some are kind of offhand and almost rude about it. It annoys me. And it happened about six times today, while I ( Read more... )

I'll bring you over to the dark side sooner or later. Nice icons, btw. Did you still need to know about screencapping off Youtube? I know two ways, but I generally don't do either unless I'm desperate, because you're bound to get crap quality almost no matter what.

IT WAS HYSTERICAL. So surreal and he ahd no idea why I was so amused.

Customer: DO YOUR BEST!...Erica~
Erica: Ore taichi wa mada...*mumble*

What number do you have to divide by from 100 to gt 35?
Exam.. I'm just glad that its all over now.. I don't feel too well.. =(

Yes, I still need to know how to screencap off of youtube, but I'll call you a little bit.. Need to talk to you, rika..

You know, when I acutally read that part about the customer and Do your best, the first thing that popped into my head was the racket swinging.. LOL

Omg, you don't like the impersonal name-calling as well? I was called "Honey" today by some stranger I was on the phone with. She worked at an office where I had a cast put on my broken arm. I only asked for a document. But yeah, "Sure thing, honey, just hold on." Ugh.

Getting to the point...haha...I totally am with you on the impersonal thing.

No, it drives me crazy! Well, not if it's sweet old ladies, they call me "dear" and "love" and whatnot all the time. They just Do That Kind of Thing. It's when these slick, idiot middle-aged guys in their polo shirts and sunglasses get all smiley and stare at my nametag long enough to drop a "Thank you...Erica," that I get PISSED OFF. It's not polite, it makes me uncomfortable and I don't like it at all - and neither do most people I know in the service sector. It's just...weird. My dad does it, and it always drove me crazy. My friend Jon works as a cashier at a rival grocery store and their store has a policy where if the customer uses a credit card or company card, they have to thank the customer by name when giving them the receipt. I was so freaked out when I bought some tea there and a random cashier was all "THANK YOU, MISS ERICA K-". O______O

I didn't get to the point very well. :D But...yeah.

My major pet peeve as a cashier? Customers calling me by name.

Oh man. I thought I was the only one. I've always wanted to say, "I don't know you, you certainly don't know me, don't call me by my first name like you're my friend." I did used to "accidentally" lose my nametag just for that reason.

He doesn't even need to see Momoshiro's face: his grin hangs in the air, almost tangible.

I really like that line, even if it reminds me of the Cheshire Cat. And I love that insults are like foreplay to Momo/Kaidoh. And that they know how to push each other's buttons so very, very well. Nice little story!

"I don't know you, you certainly don't know me, don't call me by my first name like you're my friend."

Exactly! And so many people think it's the politest thing ever. But I can't stand it.

Thanks! :) Needed some hatesex.
