My Lumos post - because Yes! I did go!
Lumos was so much fun- I'm glad that what is likely to be my last burst of spontaneity ever was good fun.
I met so many of you! That was also a lot of fun... the panels were great- I have often enjoyed reading fandom-reflexivity... but to see it live was far more interesting.
A huge thanks to all of you who met me for interviews! I feel so lucky to have your articulate thoughtful voices in my research. I can't thank you enough. In the future, I'll be sending you transcripts... for your own edification, of course. And then - one day - I hope I can share the published piece that will come of all this! Cheers to male preg ( aka "women rewriting reproductive science across men's bodies for lots of neat reasons") !!!
in other news, I am still exhausted - driving to Vegas on a whim, maintaining sobriety in a casino for three days, surviving 100+ degree heat, and being 7.5 months pregnant is not as easy as one might think. I don't mean to whine... but damn! I feel old and fat and tired. Oh well - meeting friends and conducting excellent research made everything more than worthwhile.
