She peeked through his door. He was writing something with a look of anxiety. ‘Do you need help?’ she could ask. It was a good conversation starter, wasn’t it? After all, he obviously needed some help and she was pretty good when it came to writing.
Of course, she was supposed to be going to the Weird Sister’s concert with George and Lee, but it wasn’t as if money had been spent on the tickets and besides, she was helpful. She could help him, couldn’t she?
Or maybe she could invite him along. Lee owed her a few favors from their time in school. Surely he could fake a cough or two and be on his way. Then she could waltz right up to him and say, ‘Percy, we have an extra ticket and I didn’t know if you were busy or not, but perhaps you’d like to come along. George might need a shoulder.’ The last one was purely emergency material if Percy actually declined her invite. Weak emergency material at that. It had been nearly two years since…everything and shoulders were only necessary on the anniversary of everything.
She could do this, really, she could. Should she knock or clear her throat? He knew who she was, right?
