Seriously what is up with people in this area? I mean we did this drill a couple months ago. You'd think people would have gotten used to a couple inches of snow; but no people still couldn't figure out how to drive in it. So once again, folks commutes were like 10x longer than they should be. People abandoned their cars in the MIDDLE of the road again and businesses & schools closed. The amazing part is that DOT actually did a pretty good job of sanding/de-icing the main arterials and highways, but people still think they can't get around. So I am missing another Thursday at school. My instructor was sick last week. Which means it will be 3 weeks into the qtr before I even get to go.
Our inability to deal with a couple measly inches of snow is embarassing. Look at other parts of the country. They get FEET of snow and businesses and schools stay open. People know how to drive in it so traffic flows. I'd really hoped folks would have learned from their mistakes from the last minor snow storm, but nope. Work is a ghosttown again as well. Oh well I'll finish up my work and read or something since I have no meetings today.
