i have to admit it, i'm sad about Michael Jackson. when i found out i was shocked and then when i got to work, we joked about how people are in such an uproar about it and how he stole Farah's thunder.

but then i got home and watched some youtube music videos and it's bringing back all these memories as a kid and took me back to how obsessed i was with his music. i can remember being very young, like probably still in diapers, and he was such a figure. i watched the making of Thriller constantly and i literally thought that when he sang "Annie are you okay?" in Smooth Criminal, that he was talking to me. my siblings were much older than me and my childhood was surrounded by teenagers who were all into MJ, so of course that was the background music of my memories. when my dad was in the hospital, we'd spent a lot of time in the cafeteria where there was a jukebox and all i ever played was MJ. it's just so weird.

one of my most prominent childhood memories is watching We Are The World on tv. like, the FIRST airing! (i feel so old)

it's the end of an era.
