Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
6, Good. Cynicism, I love you.
Hamlet - Shakespeare
4, Ehn. Blah Shakespeare. Better than any other plays I've read by the guy. Maybe I'm not cultured enough. Maybe this material is just not as interesting as a lot of other books we could be reading instead.
Steppenwolf - Herman Hesse
7, Really good. One man's struggle with being discontent when he realizes he has no logical reason to be. I think a lot of people, myself included, can learn a lot from this book.
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
5, OK. A lot of people hate it, but I read it completely through and I think there's enough dark, scary imagery to make it worthwhile.
As I Lay Dying - William Faulkner
9, Awesome. I can't explain it, but I really really liked this book. The style was just very different, Darl is crazy in a good way, Vardaman's mother is a fish, and Jewel's mother is a horse. 'Nuff said.
