I did some research on pit-bulls. You were right. They do bite more than other dogs (about half as much as rotweilers) accounting for roughly 30% of dog bites in America in the last 10 years.
But I also did some research on human violence. Turns out Hispanics accounted for 43.3% of Homicide in California in 2004, though they only represented 35.2% of the population; Blacks accounted for 32.1%, though they only represented 6.7% of the population.
If we were to employ your logic, your uneducated sweeping generalizations, we'd have a lot of minorities to kill.
On a side note, I'd like to point out that when a dog bites a human its not only the dog, but the owner of said dog that's held responsible. This is a government mandate, so somewhere along the lines our society decided the burden of fault wasn't just the dog's. But if you'd like to let irresponsible owners off the hook and focus your aggression squarely on the dog, you can.
