[Mitsuhide sounds tired and rather melancholy.]

A week of surprises... great surprises, and I...

[A pause. No, he doesn't feel ready to talk about that yet. A small sigh..]Mmm. Perhaps the weather is a more suitable topic, for now, if weather it can be called. I do not know what these things are, exactly. Small toys of some sort? I assume this is ( Read more... )

[Motochika is already outside; just as he opens his mouth to speak a falling duck bounces off his head. He catches it and holds it up. He shakes his head a moment later, a brief but amused motion.]

Would you consider that agreement, my friend?

My Lord.

[A pause, in which he glances at the rubber duck on the screen, and then a slight shake of the head.]

Not yet.

[For a second his brows furrow, but he lets it pass without comment and his expression smooths out. A misunderstanding, perhaps. It's not entirely surprising, given the delicate circumstances.]

You should not step outside without some form of protection. Their impact is felt, after a while.

[He drops the umbrella duck and looks away from the SFC. He narrows his eyes briefly, looking into the distance, then begins to walk.]

I am prepared for them.

[He is looking away from the communicator and out of the door of their home a little unsurely. Sometimes, though rarely, he has spied what looks to be much larger ducks falling as well. Will his parasol stand against them?]

I... think so, anyway.

[A little frown.]

Lord Motochika, do you have any protection yourself? You don't seem to...

[He raises the parasol with his free hand and steps outside. A simple yellow duck bounces off.]

If I remember correctly, a good majority of them are supposed to float in the bath.

Of course, some of them look as though they weren't meant to be floating in anything at all, let alone a bathroom, but I suppose it's the thought that counts.

Bath toys? That is... somewhat sweet.

Yes, I have noticed some that would certainly not do that. There are some very bizarre designs falling...

Have you seen the one that resembles an anteater? I have to say, it's pretty impressive.

[Brief laughter.]

I have seen one which is designed to look like the corpse of a duck, but that one? I have not. That sounds rather bizarre indeed.

I believe they are called rubber ducks. I wonder why they are falling on us...

Rubber ducks? Thank you for telling me.

[Pause.]

Just another curse, I believe, though perhaps this is the strangest stage of the odd weather we've been having.

uhh you are welcome

A curse? is it common for this place to have strong weather? How can it happen if we are in a dome?

I do not think it is; I can only imagine it is related to the magic of that coral, somehow.

They're rubber ducks - bath toys for kids. But it's kinda amusing seeing 'em rain down.

Oh, I see. I have never seen the like before. My thanks for informing me.

No problem. I'm guessing you're from the same place as Motochika, then?

The toys are unable to harm you, fool. They are a child's plaything.

I am aware they will not harm me, but having them bounce off my head constantly would be rather annoying.

Hn. This Sesshoumaru should have expected such a human limitation.
