[Yamamoto's been smart, and he's got enough food and fresh water to live for longer than the black hole will probably give him. It's a routine operation by now, survival technique, and he feels a little silly when there's such a huge disaster hanging above his head.]Heh, even when we've got something like that in the sky, we can't help but keep ( Read more... )

Just giving up won't accomplish anything.

That's true.

Though I admit hoping we'll be saved at this point seems pretty impossible.

All the smaller instances of what happens with the smaller black holes don't look so good either.

I don't know. All things considered, we may be pretty lucky on that end.

What, that we're not missing any limbs yet? Though I thought even tiny ones could suck everything in.

Well, there's that too. But I'm talking about how apparently the people that fall in them don't die.

Mm. . . and all this talk about seeing this happen for the second time.

When I first arrived, Sasuke told me about a 'Great Not-Happening'. Where something very bad happened, but no one could remember what. Now a bunch of people are 'remembering' seeing this before... well.

. . .Sounds like that's pretty obvious, yeah. I heard something similar.

I wonder if it's a chance, though. If it's possible we can survive, why did everyone forget it? And something that's already happened is happening again.

I can't say it makes much sense to me. My best guess is it has something to do with that ship. But I can't prove that. And I'm not exactly looking forward to this world dying to find out if I'm right, either.

The ship, huh.

If something like a giant catastrophe is happening again, and people remember dying before. . . it could be some kind of time travel irregularity.

Time travel? That sounds like something you'd read about in a kid's book.

Of course, so does 'kidnapped by aliens' and 'came back to life after falling into a mysterious black hole'.
