Happy 18th Birthday Bill & Tom Kaulitz!! Aww, I got a message on my MySpace today from the leader of the Tokio Hotel UK Street Team; she's lovely. It's sad that it's looking like 'Ready, Set, Go' isn't going to chart in the Top 40 :( The band deserves so much more than a crappy position.  I know people would normally have been put off by the fact the band mainly sing in German and don't speak too much English.. but I really like their music and they're really quite something different in the music industry; well if you look at the UK charts, anyway. Really hope the not-so-high charting doesn't put them off coming back to the UK and/or to America next year. The Islington Academy gig in June was so much fun and really enjoyable. Bill did so well singing 90% of the set in English. Still, I bought two of the single versions & downloaded a load of mp3s from iTunes... it's not like I haven't done my bit :-\ Oh well, fingers crossed for tomorrow, eh? I think I want to take up German again, I miss learning it... shall have to look into enrolling at an evening language course, maybe at intermediate level, as I  don't think I've forgotten *that* much since A Level. At least I have my lovely German Hanson fan friends who'll help me out this time around (pun not intended). :P

Anyway.. today I have mostly been doing nothing. I'm so lazy these days. Got up at about 1pm, but to be fair, I couldn't go to sleep 'til 5am the night before... nothing new there. I asked Laura (my twin) if she'd like to go to the cinema this evening, but she didn't seem very enthused. I'd like to see either 'The Bourne Ultimatum', 'Knocked Up' and 'Atonement' when that comes out in a week or so (yum, James McAvoy! Absolutely adored him in 'Last King of Scotland'). She says she can't afford anything anyway - she's only got about 40 quid to live on 'til next month when she gets her next paycheque/student loan/grant. Fair enough!! She's got bills and rent to pay, unlike me anymore.. but i still have debts unfortunately.

Harriett came back from her "door supervisor" (I still say that's a posh term for BOUNCER!) training course up in Leicester.. she and Mum went to the hospital to see Dad. He had surgery on his foot to drain out all the nasty pus and stuff that's making him ill (TMI, i know!).. don't think he's going to come home until Monday now, 'cos they're keeping him in for observation apparently. Fingers crossed everything'll be alright...

Mum bought my sisters and I Lebanese food from Café Mezza for dinner tonight... so divine, chicken and lamb schwarma (sp?), though now I have garlic breath, even after brushing my teeth about four times... good thing I'm not planning on kissing anyone anytime soon.. (well, maybe John Mayer in a couple of weeks! Lol, only joking.. in my dreams!). Think that's the last takeaway we're having in a long while, since nobody seems to have any money to do anything.. even go out anywhere. Guess that's the problem when you're friends with a bunch of students! ;-P Ah well... at least if any vampires come a-knockin' I'll be able to scare 'em off in a flash, haha... (unless it's LeStat ..he can stay).

X Factor was good tonight; much better than it's been in previous weeks. There's a little cutie (he's only about 18) called Leon who seems quite talented, think he'll be very popular with the girls - sort of a Gareth Gates mark II - also a sweet young guy with a shaved head who's a million times more handsome than Shayne Ward; it's a shame his voice was too 'breathy' as Sharon said, but he definitely has some potential.. his name escapes my mind...oooh and a 14 year old named Matthew who sang a G4-esque operatic song (can't remember what it was right now - maybe 'Nessun Dorma' or 'Time To Say Goodbye', one of those generic types in the genre), but he was astounding, really quite astonishing. Wouldn't ..think I'll be keeping an eye on him throughout the competition. Shame Simon will probably say he's too young to handle the pressure when he was the one whose idea it was to lower the entry age to 14 in the first place(!). It's always the way with him... strange man.

Oooh, yesterday I got a message on Last.fm from Jonatan Cerrada (the beautiful blonde guy with an eyebrow piercing who represented France in Eurovision singing 'A Chaque Pas' in 2003...I think?) thanking me for listening to his music and letting me know about his new Spanish language album, requesting to be my friend. He actually ended the message with "tu amigo". How sweet! Not so many artists are as polite and charming as that; I realise he's essentially selling something to me, but still.. it was lovely to get a message from him out of the blue. I'm pretty sure it's him. I'm not *entirely* sure of the exact translation of the message, as he wrote it en espanol, but luckily thanks to my rudimentary understanding of holiday Spanish, I was able to get the gist. Wonder why he decided to write it in Spanish instead of French or even English (as you can clearly see I'm from the UK on my profile)? One of the mysteries of the world, I guess :) Anyway, that was a lovely surprise. Reading through OhNoTheyDidn't, I suddenly realised who Zac Efron reminds me of - Jonatan! They have a similar smile.

Aww, I absolutely LOVE him! I remember seeing his performance on TV and looking him up on the 'net (how sad, I know!).. always wished he'd come over to England, but as my earlier musings on Tokio Hotel proved -- it's not easy to be a foreign language artist in an English-speaking market... unless you're a novelty act (Las Ketchup, Joy Guttman, Los Del Rio... etc).
Speaking of Last.fm (love that website so much) - listening to Usher's 'Yeah' reminds me of the summer when I was 18 and went to a bar in town with my old best friend Gemma and she was constantly flirting with a guy who worked there called Gareth... but he already had a girlfriend and was just leading her on. Random thing to say i know...it was played constantly in there; just had flashbacks of dancing madly and sinking about 6 JD and Cokes in a row. Strange how some songs evoke such strong memories of certain times.  Well,  who'd have thought she'd have 2 kids by the age of 21.. Sweet, innocent Gemma, who'd never even had a boyfriend all the way through school. It's amazing how much people change over the years. I feel sad thinking about it. Somebody invent a time machine! How very Back To The Future-esque.. where's Dr Emmett Brown when you need him?!

On a random note.. mmmm @ Daniel Bruehl in my icon. I really need to watch that film again one of these days... actually, I think it's on Film4 soon, actually I may have just missed it, but at least I have it on DVD :)
