This morning, Guta and I said good-bye to our sweet apartment and moved down one floor to a smaller, darker, dirtier apartment. Annette moved to the fancy Raj Palace to finish up her Indian stay in style with A/C, continental breakfast and a big clean swimming pool to splash around in. We're sharing our little place with Li who's here from Australia; she has a bed in the kitchen because she's leaving in two days and Guta and I have the two bedrooms.
Someone else is moving in upstairs, so we'll make the best of it here for the next short while. The bonus is it's much cheaper than we were paying, (and a tiny fraction of what Annette is paying!). And, the move was easy! No trucks, no packing boxes, no recruiting friends and buying beer and pizza all-round. Just throw a few things in the suitcase and lug it down the stairs!
So, here we are. The internet is wired, so more reliable than the wireless that only let me connect sometimes. And, really, it's perfectly fine, just a step down (actually, about 20 steps down) from where we were.
As for the internship, it's been intense. I've been lucky enough to get a lot of teaching assignments and it's been humbling to be a) observed while teaching (about half the time someone is there with me and the other half, they let me loose with the student), and b) to be teaching in an environment where I'm not the boss! It's refreshing and humbling at the same time, and a great opportunity to learn.
Oops, roomies are calling me to go for dinner!
