LJ Idol: Week 6(?)--Introduction

It is pleasure to be starting this season of LJ Idol. I am excited to be here! I am looking forward to all the glorious writing that will be shared this season!
Of course, I see the beverage committee has done their work, and done it well. Such a splendiferous array of recreational intoxicants. An astonishing assortment of adroitly alcoholic aromants, all arriving adjacently. Oh, my listen to me: already using up my precious vocabulary and we haven't even gotten the season started. But I expect we will all be taking advantage of the beverages soon; certainly I already have. As always, though, I will practice modesty and restraint. I wouldn't want a repeat of that incident on the tilt-a-whirl, after all--none of us do.
Ah, what did you say? Isn't it a little late for an introduction? May the devil take your tongue, for surely there are no strangers, only friends you haven't made yet. There are no problems, only solutions. And, as Oscar Wilde said to Hunter Thompson at a cocktail party during the fourteen-eighteen war: there are no cliches, only phrases done to death. So may I be filled with gratitude and say to all of you: welcome.
