Seriously, I AM PUMPED UP!
Today I got my blood results back.
Wait, let me start earlier.
The one thing I've always loved is travel. Especially journeys by myself.
Since I've been home, I've been training for the RAAM, or Race Across America. It's a 3,055 mile bicycling race from the Pacific Ocean at San Diego to the Atlantic Ocean at Atlantic City. The fastest average speed for the entire course is 15.4 miles per hour.
A few days ago, I found that I was qualified to participate in ultracycling qualifier events. This is after my doctor asked me if I had been doing any heavy exercise recently. "Well, I rode for four hours on at 17.3 MPH, then slept for an hour, then did four more hours on the bike." She said that explained various things. So she gave me blood tests, oxygen level tests, etc, and I got the seal of approval today!
So, now it's on to training, finding sponsors, and getting a support crew together. That means two drivers, two navigators, and two mechanics, separated into 2 teams so one can help me pace while the other sleeps. Seriously, who wants a corporate sponsored road trip across America?
Seriously, I have not been this excited in forever. It's amazing. Having a goal like this just puts everything else in perspective. Nothing else seems as important anymore.
Note to my mom: You can ask if I'm seeing someone whenever you want, and I'll tell you about each of them, and you can hint that you'd like me to be with someone, and I'll tell you I will be when I want to. But seriously, if a girl is hitting on me at Williamson's, don't give her the evil eye and tell me you want to slap her for staring. That's one of those hypocritical situations.
In short: BOO-YEAH!
