Question!

I posted a fic three weeks-ish ago, and never got around to putting it up on any communities. I've been awful at cross-posting my stories lately (and by "lately" I mean for the last year, at least), so I would kinda like to. But it's been three weeks! So...

In other news, I bought my plane ticket to Wincon :D :D :D :D  Who else is going for sure?

If you haven't crossposted it at all, I say have at it! What I don't like is when somebody (at least one specific somebody I can think of) seems to post their story to one comm and then wait a week or two and post it to another comm and then another comm after another couple weeks. It's just enough time for me to be unsure at first sight if I've already read it and basically makes me want to send them a cease and desist. ;) But you should totally crosspost your fic so that more people read it for you are awesome.

Of course, when the "delayed" community is supernaturalfic, the delay is not necessarily the author's fault, per se...

Hah. Actually, I think I've been approving posts rather quickly for the past several months, with a few exceptions. ;)

Yeah, except when it gets bounced due to typo. I tend to take it really personally when that happens to me, so I don't post there anymore. It just ain't worth the pain.

That's cool. I'll say that when I do reject posts (which I try to do as infrequently as possible) I think I make the note friendly and nice. I guess I take it personally too, the idea that it might be taking *weeks* for posts to get approved when for the last several months I think that very few have waited longer than a day and often I approve them within minutes. I'm not one of the main, original mods there, but I helped out approving posts there for some time 2-3 years ago then quit because the workload was overwhelming. I offered to start up again late last year when I saw how behind they were, and I probably do 80-90% of the post approvals currently. So I'm doing the work in order to facilitate posts going through much more quickly than they were, and it hurts that people noticed when approvals were slow but they haven't noticed now that they're fast. I've seen it a few times lately, and...IDK.

Oh, the mods were always polite. It's me, I'm a perfectionist. I just try so hard and triple check and set it all up in advance, and somehow there's still always something wrong with it, and then I'm furious at myself for forgetting. My crazy, so I've decided not to deliberately poke my crazy.

I have no idea what the current approval speed is, since I'm not posting there any more :) I will say I haven't seen as many great big clumps of them on my flist.

A definite improvement-- my post was approved in just a couple of minutes :D
