and yet...I've never been to me...

captainpelvis gave me five questions to answer a few days back, and as such I will do so.

1. What's your favorite video game turned movie of all time?

Assuming that Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is out of the running (it was, after all, designed as a sequel to the game by the very company that made it), and discounting the other Final Fantasy movie because it wasn't really indicative of the games, I guess I'd have to go with Doom, if only because it didn't try to be anything more than it was.

For the record, I didn't like Mortal Kombat OR Resident Evil, the two video game movies people point to as shining beacons of quality. Paul W.S. Anderson is a complete hack, but this is to be expected due to the fact he has two initials.

2. What's your favorite movie turned video game of all time?

Spider-Man 2, I think, because it was the first movie game I played that had some actual effort and energy put into it. I am also very fond of the Genesis version of Aladdin.

3. If you could wrestle anyone on the past or present WWE roster in any match, who and what would it be?

Smartass answer time:
- Big Boss Man, because if there's anyone who can make me look good by comparison, it is he. Also, as we discussed, I wouldn't have to worry about being hit.
- Lita, but I would play to lose.
- Chris Masters' Masterlock Challenge, because it would be a great opportunity to catch up on my reading while in the DREADED FULL NELSON ZOMG.
- Jonathan Coachman, because I would want to go down in history as part of the single worst match of all time.

Seriously, it would probably be Mick Foley because I respect the man a great deal.

4. What non-DDR song would you like to DDR to?

"Hurt", by Johnny Cash.

Failing that, "Ready Steady Go" from the Full Metal Alchemist soundtrack is pretty cool.

5. What ten acts would you approach for your very own music festival? What order would they play in? What concessions would you serve?

I'm not sure on order, knowing me it would probably be decided by a coin toss or something equally stupid (I am thinking of a ten-sided die).

Acts-wise, though, I would definitely choose these, assuming that death and band breakups are no obstacle:

Ben Folds, Dire Straits, Warren Zevon, the White Stripes, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Minibosses, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley.

I would sell whatever damn concessions I want because anyone who could afford that lineup would be willing to pay for it. Gold-dusted popcorn? You betcha!

Edit: I totally forgot, if anyone wants me to ask them five questions, respond to this here post. That's the way memes work, after all.

Damn me.
